Libre Circulation est un nouveau salon dédié aux pratiques contemporaines de l’édition qui aura lieu du vendredi 19 au dimanche 21 juin 2026 à l’espace d’art contemporain Smallville, à Neuchâtel (Suisse). Pendant ces trois jours, le salon accueillera une sélection de publications présentées sur une structure collective, ainsi qu’un programme public comprenant un cycle de conférences.
A la suite du salon, les publications resteront exposées et disponibles à la vente du 24 juin au 4 juillet, les mercredis et samedis de 14:00 à 17:00, et sur rendez-vous.

Libre Circulation est une manifestation conçue comme un espace de distribution, de lecture et de discussion consacrée aux pratiques éditoriales contemporaines. Toute personne ayant activement participé à la réalisation d’une publication (auteur·ice, artiste, designer, imprimeur·euse, éditeur·ice, etc.) peut y inscrire gratuitement ses projets.
Le salon s’intéresse aux publications « qui interrogent la forme conceptuelle et/ou matérielle du livre comme partie intégrante de leur intention, de leurs enjeux thématiques ou de leurs conditions de production ». 1 Il s’agit d’ouvrages posant un regard réflexif sur leur contenu (texte, image) et qui illustrent cette position par des gestes éditoriaux façonnant leurs techniques de production, leurs méthodes de diffusion, leurs formes et/ou l'organisation de leurs matières.
Le salon privilégie les publications à faible visibilité, issues de l’auto-édition ou à tirage modeste, ainsi que celles de praticien·ne·s en études, émergent·e·s ou peu représenté·e·s.
Dans le but d’assurer une diversité des pratiques représentées et de créer un dialogue entre publications locales et internationales, Libre Circulation complètera la programmation participative par un panel de projets invités. Un cycle de conférences sera proposé gratuitement pendant le salon, avec des personnalités de Suisse et d’ailleurs.

C O N D I T I O N S
La participation et l’entrée au salon sont gratuites. Les conférences ainsi que l’exposition sont également gratuites et ouvertes aux publics.

Chaque participant·e peut présenter un maximum de trois publications (trois numéros dans le cas d’un périodique), avec une limitation de 20 copies par publication pour la vente.

Sur inscription, les participant·e·s peuvent également proposer une activité liée à la présentation de leur projet, sous forme de performance, de conférence, de lecture, de workshop ou de lancement durant la période du salon.

La vente des publications sera assurée par l’équipe organisatrice. Les recettes réalisées sur les ventes seront reversées intégralement aux participant·e·s. Ces dernier·ère·s auront la possibilité de récupérer les copies restantes de leur stock au terme de l’exposition.

Les participant·e·s sont invité·e·s à être présent·e·s durant les trois jours du salon pour découvrir les autres projets, partager leurs pratiques et prendre part au programme public.

Une structure collective conçue pour l’occasion accueillera l’ensemble des publications. Le dispositif de présentation mettra les ouvrages en valeur de manière équitable et assurera une expérience de lecture confortable pour les publics.

L’accès à l’espace se faisant par des escaliers, les personnes à mobilité réduite sont invitées à contacter l’équipe du salon à l’avance afin que l’assistance nécessaire puisse leur être fournie.

La participation au salon étant gratuite, les frais postaux liés à l’envoi ou la récupération des publications sont à la charge des participant·e·s.

Les participant·e·s ont la possibilité de soutenir le salon à prix libre par une donation sur le compte de l’association organisatrice Karma Chaos.

Libre Circulation (“free circulation”) is a new salon dedicated to contemporary publishing practices, taking place from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June 2026 at the off-space Smallville in Neuchâtel (Switzerland). Over the course of the salon, submitted publications will be presented within a shared display structure, alongside a public lecture program.
Following the salon, from 24 June to 4 July 2026, the publications will remain on view and available for purchase, open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 14:00–17:00, and by appointment.

Libre Circulation is an event intended as a space for distribution, reading and conversations on contemporary publishing practices. Any person actively involved in the making of a publication (author, artist, designer, printer, editor, etc.) can submit their projects for free.
The salon specifically draws interest in projects “which [interrogate] the conceptual or material form of the book as part of its intention, thematic interests, or production activities.” 1 This includes publications that engage with their content (text, image) through editorial or publishing gestures that shape their formal attributes, production techniques, modes of distribution, and/or editorial choices.
The salon prioritizes publications with limited visibility and small print runs, including self-published or self-initiated works, projects by emerging, underrepresented practitioners or made as part of their studies.
In order to have a diversity of represented practices and to create a dialogue between local and international publications, Libre Circulation will complement the participatory program with a selection of invited projects. A series of talks will be freely accessible during the salon, featuring guests from Switzerland and abroad.

Participation and attendance are both free. The lectures and the exhibition are also free and open to the public.

Each participant can submit up to three publications (or three issues, in the case of a periodical), with a maximum of 20 copies per publication intended for sale.

Upon registration, participants can propose an activity related to the presentation of their publications, such as a performance, lecture, reading, workshop or launch.

The publications will be sold by the organizational team. All proceeds from sales will be paid in full to the participants. Any remaining copies can be collected by participants after the exhibition ends on 4 July 2026.

Participants are encouraged to attend the salon over its three days, to engage with fellow participants and the public program.

A collective structure designed for the occasion will house all the publications. The projects will be presented in an equitable manner and the display arrangement will provide a comfortable reading experience for the public.

As the space is accessible only by stairs, visitors with reduced mobility are invited to contact the salon to make sure that appropriate assistance can be arranged.

Since participation in the salon is free of charge, postage fees for sending or collecting the publications are at the participants expenses.

Participants have the option of supporting the salon with a donation, to the account of the organizing association Karma Chaos.
